The role of UX Designer:
As a UX Designer at Glean, you'll create user-friendly, innovative solutions that deliver results for both our users and our business. With support, you'll follow a user-centred design process, collaborating with team members to explore problems, generate ideas, and validate solutions.
We're product-led, which means you'll develop a deep understanding of our users and help improve our products over time. If solving real user problems and making a meaningful impact excites you, you'll thrive here.
Career Track IC1 & IC2 - we are open to applicants at the earlier stages of their UX career, from recent graduates to those with up to 2 years of experience.
Meet the team:
You'll be reporting to Paul (Head of UX) and join a talented and supportive team of designers based in the UK and Spain. Together we believe that great design comes from curiosity, bold experimentation, and sharing work early and often. While we work mostly remotely, we're a close-knit team and regularly come together at our Leeds office for workshops, events, and socials.
What you’ll be doing:
Our products are created by cross-functional squads that include UX designers, engineers, product managers, product marketers, customer experience and data specialists. Each squad works closely together to build the best product for our users and customers.
You'll join one of four product-focused squads, where your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting user research to gain deep understanding of user needs
* Contributing ideas in product discussions and helping shape the direction of features
* Creating solutions through sketching, wireframes and rapid prototyping
* Participating in design critiques and sharing your work regularly to gather feedback
* Running usability tests and prioritising findings to refine solutions
* Communicating design requirements and supporting engineers during implementation
* Contributing to the evolution of Glean's design process
About you:
You're a curious, proactive designer who’s eager to learn and grow. You enjoy working collaboratively, value feedback, and take pride in turning ideas into well-thought-out, user-centred solutions. You’re comfortable with some ambiguity and open to exploring different approaches, tools, and ways of working. You're keen to build your skills through hands-on experience and make a real contribution to our product development at Glean.
What we're looking for:
* Qualification in UX Design, Interaction Design, Product Design or a similar related field.
* A portfolio that showcases your user-centred design approach and demonstrates how you have iterated solutions based on research and testing.
* Solid foundation in both user research and UI design with an eagerness to develop your skills across the full product lifecycle.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain your design decisions.
* Effective collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks.
* Proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Bonus skills & experience:
* An interest in accessibility and a desire to apply best practices to create inclusive experiences.
* A genuine curiosity about how people learn and a drive to design products that support students.
* An openness to the role of AI in design and how it can be used responsibly in the design process.
If you don’t have some, or all, of the bonus skills & experiences listed please still get in touch as we’d love to hear from you.
