Salary: £12.90 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with diverse learning needs in various schools across Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and supporting their educational development.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to support the academic and emotional well-being of students with a range of additional needs. You will help create an inclusive learning environment and provide tailored support to meet the individual needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and activities for students with SEN.
Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with varying needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, physical disabilities, and more.
Support students in their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and interaction.
Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Help implement and adapt education plans (EHCP’s) for students.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working with children, ideally in a SEN setting, is preferred.
Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to support individual learning needs.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN-focused training) is desirable, though not essential.
A ‘Child Workforce Only’ DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check registered to the Update Service will be required
