The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Leader to join the Sensors Support team within Integrated Sensing & Protection (ISP). The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Support project(s) and undertake the associated bid activities, reporting to the Senior Project Manager.
The primary role is to manage all aspects of the contract as the main interface to the Customer, working with all functions to deliver the project scope in line with customer expectations and LCM processes to achieve the project schedule, cost and quality requirements.
The role is based at Basildon with a majority of onsite working; some travel may also be required for customer meetings.
What you’ll do as a Project Leader:
To manage and maintain the delivery and integrity of the assigned Support project(s) within the ISP Sensors line of business, including the preparation of export requirements, monthly report submissions of the project status, and working with a number of internal functions including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Planning, Finance, Operations, Procurement and Commercial to ensure regular on-time completion of the project deliverables.
Apply budgeting techniques for forecasting of orders, sales, cash and project milestones in order to ensure accuracy of the financial forecast against the project plan. Prepare and present the project summary report within the monthly PPRP reviews. Monitor the forward load working with Project Controls to ensure its accuracy based on project schedule resource requirements.
Maintenance of Project Risk and Opportunity through the project lifecycle. Ensure the project is governed in line with Life Cycle Management and other company policies.
Contribute to the preparation, management and review of bids (for follow on and new business), and communicate to the relevant internal stakeholders in order to support the defined requirements.
Monitor, update and communicate any variations and changes to the Contract/ project to ensure accuracy of reporting and performance control. Support the IPT in the management of the project supply cycle in moderately complex contexts.

What you really must have:
1. Typically meets the Project Manager (Entry) knowledge requirements or the PMO Officer knowledge and experience competency levels as defined by the APM Competency Framework.
2. Experience of different Project Management techniques and when/how to use them.
3. Experience in developing and maintaining internal/external Customer and Supplier relationships.
4. Proactive, dynamic individual with proven stakeholder management, organisational, interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills.
5. Strong experience of using MS Office applications, especially Excel is required.
6. Evidence of ability and planning to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
7. Energetic, team player, and keen to develop further.
It would be nice if you had:
1. Experience of using SAP will be of help but is not necessary as training will be provided.
2. Experience within planning, engineering, procurement and/or finance functions would be advantageous but not essential.
