The Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health AHP Team is looking for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Mental Health Dietitian with a clinical specialization in Eating Disorders.
Job Purpose:
The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working as a clinical specialist, managing a caseload of highly complex patients through expert assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.
They will have both clinical and professional responsibility for their area of practice, acting independently to provide a full comprehensive specialist service, including highly specialist interventions, assessments, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a complex range of patients.
The post holder will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team and support high-level decision-making.
They will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient-centered care and optimize outcomes.
The post holder will be responsible for introducing new innovative ideas, approaches, and processes, maximizing service provision, and increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management.
They will also provide expert support and education for health professionals, relatives, and carers both within and outside the service.
The post holder will maintain and improve all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in their service area in conjunction with the AHP Service Manager, AHP Lead (Mental Health), and Mental Health AHP Team Leaders, having responsibility for clinical and staff governance issues.
Additionally, the post holder will implement research, conduct audits, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.
