About the role
In your role as Digital Content Officer you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.
This role will provide a great opportunity to be responsible for supporting the digital content publishing process and the creation of intuitive, engaging and fully optimised UX journeys across our digital estate.
Producing high-quality UX design solutions across our digital estate, which addresses the needs and goals of our users, ensuring they have a positive online experience.
This role will see you collaborating closely with other members of the Digital Team, the wider business and third parties.
You must be flexible and adaptable, and we are looking for someone creative and passionate about delivering positive online user experiences.
You will be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and being part of a close team.
You must also demonstrate a track record of working under your own initiative to complete tasks in accordance with strict project timelines.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Group Transformation you will be responsible for:
* Support on all content publishing activities within BAU operations covering the USS Public Site, My USS Portal, and Employer Portal
* Work closely with the Digital Content Manager, have a basic understanding of analysis and measurement techniques and the resulting insights.
* Maintain and develop knowledge on the USS Content Management System (CMS), its features, functions, templates, processes, and environments
* Support the team with the creation of test scripts against allocated components, their subsequent execution and associated defect remediation process, regression testing and live proving
* Develop and maintain knowledge of best practice guidelines for digital content and UX, including accessibility and USS’s ongoing commitment to WCAG AA standards
* Contribute to the maintenance of the Digital inbox, recording enquiries and ensuring they are responded to promptly and that all business processes are adhered to
* Provide excellent customer support to internal and external users, responding to enquiries promptly and delivering requests within agreed timescales

To be successful in the role you will have:
* Basic understanding of HTML & CSS
* Experience in publishing web content with a CMS
* Experience in Adobe apps such as Photoshop/Illustrator/Adobe XD or similar
* Knowledge of image optimisation techniques
* Knowledge of User Experience and graphic design principles
* Ability to plan multiple tasks/workstreams
* Must be able to work within a team as well as on own
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent written English and communication skills
