Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Undergraduate psychology degree with GBR at 2(ii) or above
* Apprenticeship in Child Clinical Associate Psychology passed or in final year
Desirable criteria
* Training in ASD assessment tools (e.g., ADOS)
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with children and young people
Desirable criteria
* Experience prior to CAP apprenticeship working in CAMHS
* Experience of undertaking specialist ASD and/or ADHD diagnostic assessments
Skills
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates the ability to appropriately reflect on themselves and the impact they have on others
* Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, complex and/or sensitive information to clients, families, carers and colleagues within and outside the NHS
* Ability to use communication and interaction skills in highly emotive situations where there may be significant barriers to acceptance
* Ability to work as part of a team and manage conflict effectively and professionally
* To recognise limits of professional competency and seek appropriate supervision
