The role
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who has a passion for building and deploying well-designed products that deliver value and engage users. You will work closely with our customers to build an understanding of their processes and define the requirements for digital services to support their needs. To deliver this successfully, the Business Analyst will need to have strong time management skills, a positive and productive outlook, and be equally comfortable and confident in front of customers as they are with their team.
Core job responsibilities include:
* Research with business stakeholders to understand their process and identify user needs and pain points.
* Understanding underlying legislation and policy constraints on services and where these can be challenged or changed.
* Working with the business to improve working practices and gain the benefits of digital transformation.
* Working with researchers and technical leads on discoveries into new digital services.
* Writing user stories and acceptance criteria based on user needs.
* Supporting the customer product owner with backlog management and prioritisation, and activities related to user acceptance testing.
* Creating artefacts to capture business requirements such as data dictionaries, process diagrams, and low-fidelity mockups.
* Involvement in project sprint meetings to ensure work is understood and delivered according to the requirements.
* Support the team throughout to ensure they are not blocked when questions arise during sprint delivery.
* Support on activities related to data mapping, cleansing and migration from legacy services to new services.
* Conducting internal reviews and sign off of services.
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years Business Analyst experience working on digital services defining acceptance criteria, inputting to backlog prioritisation, etc.
* Ability to create diagrams, process flows, data dictionaries, and other artefacts to clearly define business rules and requirements.
* A background in the oil and gas industry, not necessarily as a business analyst, is preferred.
* Experience with delivering services in line with the Government Service Standard is preferred.

* Educated to degree level.

* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic and with a "can do" attitude.
* Extremely well organised with an ability to handle and digest large amounts of information from a variety of sources.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
