Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator / Project Manager with a strong background in heavy construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, be proficient in Excel and Adobe, along with other software applications, and possess extensive knowledge of construction means and methods. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who can handle both the estimation and project management phases, ensuring smooth project coordination and successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy construction projects, including roadwork, water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
* Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
* Coordinate with superintendents, clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication and resolve any project issues.
* Oversee project progress, ensuring compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and quality standards.
* Review and analyze project documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate estimating and project planning.
* Use Excel and Adobe software for detailed cost analysis, budgeting, reporting, and documentation.
* Manage project resources effectively, ensuring efficient allocation and tracking of labor, materials, and equipment.
* Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to monitor project progress and address on-site challenges.
* Maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and managing client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 10 years of experience estimating / project management in civil construction.
* Proficiency in Excel and Adobe software for estimating, budgeting, and project management tasks.
* Strong understanding of construction means and methods for roadwork, site grading, water, sewer, and storm drain projects.
* Proven experience coordinating with a range of stakeholders, including subcontractors, superintendents, clients, and engineers.
* Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and project management processes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and client interactions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Familiarity with additional project management or estimating software.
* Prior experience with projects of similar scope and scale.
