We have an opportunity for a Lawyer to join us on a 12-month fixed term to support the firm’s Head of Partnership Affairs (HoPA).
In this role you will work closely with our General Counsel (GC) and Global Leadership Team (GLT) on key matters related to the partnership and the overall structure of the firm.
Your responsibilities will include advising on the operation and structure of the firm’s business framework, implementing changes when necessary, managing partnership transitions (including accession and departures), and supporting various projects and initiatives as they arise.
Additionally, you will act as a key liaison between the Partnership Affairs function and the Legal Department, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across the firm’s leadership on priorities and activities.
About you
The role would suit a qualified lawyer with experience in international practice and complex contracts. The ideal candidate will provide clear, commercial advice, manage multiple projects, and handle day-to-day queries with confidence and diplomacy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and drafting skills are essential, as well as the ability to balance accuracy with practicality. The role requires a resourceful, flexible team player who can thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively.
A commitment to continuous improvement, staying updated on relevant laws, and strong IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) are also key. Knowledge of employment/partnership law or business tax is a plus.
Inclusion
Freshfields is an equal opportunities employer and all applications received by the firm will be considered by the firm on the basis of their merit alone. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of background. All offers of employment will be conditional on the candidate having/securing the right to work in the UK and providing the firm with evidence of that right (as required by the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006) prior to employment commencing.
Freshfields is a Ban the Box employer. We ask applicants to disclose criminal convictions only when a conditional job offer is made. A conviction does not automatically lead to withdrawal of the offer: we make decisions on a case-by-case basis and take a number of factors into account (e.g., the role you are applying for and the circumstances of the offence). You would have the opportunity to discuss the matter with us before we make a decision.
Please let us know if you require any support or adjustments to be made in order to submit your application.
