Newham Hospital is situated in the heart of East London and we have easy access to very good public transport links. We provide Maternity Services to approximately 6700 women a year and accommodate our women in very modern up to date facilitates. We have co-located midwifery-led unit and a stand-alone midwife-led unit at Barking.
There are superb opportunities for training and career development which includes a comprehensive orientation programme, education links with City University, University of Greenwich and London Southbank University. We have a state of the art simulation centre to support high fidelity multi-disciplinary obstetric emergency training, as well as a bespoke and comprehensive in-service education programme. • As a Maternity Health Care Assistant at Booking Centre you will be working as a member of the maternity team, assisting the Midwifery staff with supporting the care needs of women and their babies. To undertake assigned tasks and appropriate interventions for women and their babies with minimal supervision but under the direction of the midwife.
• The post holder will be able to work in a flexible manner regarding hospital/community placements and shift patterns depending on the needs of the service. To provide leadership and support to junior colleagues and ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment which promotes equitable and compassionate care
• Barts Health NHS Trust has a world-wide reputation for innovation in the care of mothers to be, each birth is very special to us and we strive to make every birth as normal as possible, no matter what the complications. Our local community is home to families from a diverse mix of ethnicity, social and health needs. We have a Level 3 Neonatal Unit situated at the Royal London Site, a Level 2 Neonatal Unit situated at the Newham Site and we have excellent facilities in Fetal Medicine.
