About us Job Purpose To fully integrate, optimize and manage an allocated programme of work and ensure delivery of capital projects to agreed plan, ensuring that all schemes are delivered in accordance with relevant National Grid practice and procedures and support the Delivery Vehicles in always operating to the highest Safety, Health and Environmental standards. Key Accountabilities Lead and embed positive safety culture and process safety within team to improve collective safety performance ensuring adherence to company policy, aims and objectives. Accountable for first level assurance across all team activities and responsibilities. Develop and share best practice in SHESQ and Project Delivery. Lead team to manage and deliver programme of projects safely to time, cost and specification within governance requirements including project initiation documents, project execution plans and management of plans, schedule, National Grid resources, budgets, quality and risks. Challenge project teams to ensure project scope, designs and delivery solutions are innovative, efficient, fit for purpose and prevent creep. Provide accurate and timely monthly project status reports covering SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management, current and forecast financial performance to ensure robust tracking and reporting against the long term capital plan. Ensure that Project Engineers are robustly positioned commercially on scheme delivery, and coordinate and prioritise commercial / contractual support systems in place. For Major Infrastructure Schemes, agree and implement a community consultation plan for the project with the SPM and local authorities. Ensure a robust response management system is in place for the recording of the receipt and response to all statutory and public feedback.
