An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint two Specialty Doctors to our dynamic Anaesthetics and Critical Care Department at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of Consultants and Specialty Doctors responsible for the provision of anaesthetics and critical care services to the University Health Board in Cwm Taf Morgannwg. The Specialty Doctor will be based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant but may also be required to work in Prince Charles in Merthyr Tydfil, Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend and across other sites within the organisation.
The Specialty Doctor is an important member of the department. The post holder will be encouraged to take up lead roles in various areas including teaching and training. The department is a close knit group of anaesthetists who pride themselves on their team ethos. The Specialty Doctors have a good blend of independence and support from the consultant body.
The post will be part of the on call rota on a 1:8, with a 10 session job plan plus three additional sessions, with enhanced payment for the on call commitment.

Qualifications
1. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice, eligible to work in UK
2. ALS Certified
Desirable criteria
1. Part 1 FRCA
2. ATLS Qualified
3. EPLS/APLS Qualified
Experience
1. 4 years postgraduate training (or equivalent on part time or flexible basis), with a minimum of 3 years in Anaesthesia and Critical Care
2. Completion of core training or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience by the time of commencement of employment
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working in the UK
Knowledge and Skills
1. Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised during unsociable hours
Audit
1. Demonstrable commitment to the audit process and ability to participate in audit to practice evidence based medicine
