Job Title: Accounts Payable Assistant
Salary: £24,495
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to provide day-to-day finance assistance for our purchase ledger team. This role involves data input, filing, and reconciliation of supplier statements.

Key Responsibilities
- Entering invoices into the accounts payable system
- Processing payments and maintaining supplier records
- Checking and verifying invoices and credit notes
- Addressing supplier queries and reconciling orders and invoices from College suppliers
- Importing student payments into the accounting system
- Processing weekly payment runs for suppliers
- Collaborating with the Student Finance team to facilitate bursary payments
- Providing cover for the Accounts Payable Team Leader and cash office assistant when necessary
Essential Criteria
* 5 GCSE’s A*-C including English Language and Mathematics
* High standard of IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
* Previous experience of using a computerised accounting packages
* At least six months experience of working in a busy, customer-focused finance office environment.
* Experience of handling cash/credit transactions.
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills and abilities.
* Excellent oral communication and inter-personal skills in order to work effectively with suppliers and staff.
* Professional, enthusiastic and positive with the ability to stay calm under pressure and use own initiative.
* Able to complete work to deadlines and manage own workload.
