Job Description Configuration Engineer - Services (Submarines) Full Time Derby What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for an In-Service Configuration Engineer to join the Service Data Centre / Availability Centre at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. You will actively track, assess, and manage Rolls-Royce Submarine assets through configuration software and multi-site collaboration assisting in the nuclear deterrent operating as efficiently, and safely as possible. Responsibilities You’ll be • Deliver packages of work to agreed time, cost, and quality. • Deliver, author / technical checking of configuration control documentation as required by the business. • Manage and maintain configuration records of all submarines currently in-build or in-service. • Management of life limited components fitted on submarines. • Management of configuration information carried onboard submarines during the platform’s full life cycle. • Support the design teams and ensure all supporting documentation is correctly aligned to the product definition. • Respond to queries from within the business to provide configuration guidance when required and support resolution of problems with the in-service and in-build fleet. • Use configuration management best practice to achieve the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of configuration management data in the relevant toolsets. • Liaise with site office to ensure a current and up to date record of boat asset inventory and serviceability status during maintenance periods. • Proactively manage PCCAMS download/upload data to maintain asset inventory to improve efficiency and boat programme. • Proactively interrogate closed RRADARs to ensure no configuration control changes have been missed. • Make continual improvements to Maximo / In-Service Configuration processes.
