The Apprenticeship: As an Apprentice Assembly & Installation Fitter you will be following the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard. You will gain the following qualifications during the 18-month programme: · Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills) · Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Development of Technical Knowledge) The apprenticeship involves an initial period spent in the training workshop learning hand skills required for the role and completing the level 2 Diploma (alongside other classmates who are all in the same boat as you). Once you have completed this initial training, you will undertake rotations around twelve departments including welding, manufacturing, paint and design. This will give you a valuable opportunity to meet colleagues from around the business and to gain a deeper understanding of our processes and products. During this time you will complete your Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations and following your apprenticeship you will move through to being a Trainee and then a Semi-Skilled member of the team. The end goal is to become a fully qualified skilled Assembly and Installation Fitter. Some of your responsibilities as an Apprentice Assembly & Installation Fitter will include: · Attending and engaging with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessors. · Managing your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship. · Understanding the process of building a shelter structure and be skilled in assembling the subcomponents. · Working on a variety of different products ranging from vehicle installations, shelter construction and refurbishments. · Reading and interpreting approved engineering data (technical drawings, test plans, technical data, repair manuals etc.) · Performing modifications to equipment or parts. · Performing maintenance to equipment, including refurbishment of shelters. You will have: · GCSEs in Mathematics and English at Grade A-C/4-9 (or equivalent). · The right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements (in order to receive apprenticeship funding).
