Overview
The role of Quality Technician is to assist the Quality department in the development and maintenance of the Product Safety and Quality systems to customer, third party standards, and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, working within a factory environment & supporting the Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Implementation & Maintenance of the site quality assurance standards.
2. Challenging processes food packaging safety systems and maintaining and reviewing the plan as required.
3. Responsible for the document control and maintenance of the Product Safety and Quality Management System.
4. Assist Quality Manager in implementing the internal audit programme.
5. Collation & inspection of packaging/artwork checks/approvals & shelf life.
6. Implementing Quality improvement initiatives in both manufacturing and business processes.
7. Reporting issues raised in a timely manner.
8. Collation & filing of documentation.
9. Carry out daily quality control inspections/production lines.
10. Liaising with suppliers and customers regarding non-conforming product.
11. Any other requirements requested via the Quality Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
2. Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
3. Fluency in the English language.
4. Proficient in the use of word/excel/sage systems.
5. Experience in a similar role/environment.
6. HACCP/HARA certification - preferred qualifications.
7. Sage system - not mandatory.
8. Safe Food 360 system - not mandatory.
Skills / Attributes:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with and present to Customer/Suppliers.
2. Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
3. Knowledge of food legislation & BRC Global Standard for packaging.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Self-organization, motivation, planning, prioritising, and time management.
