Senior Finance Partner – Service Charges
Location: Hybrid – Bradford office/ Home working
Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Reports to: Head of Finance – Housing & Property
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance Partner to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This key role will focus on providing strategic financial support to our Housing services, especially on service charges. You will lead a large finance team, drive financial control, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver insights that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Directors and Heads of Services, providing insightful financial data to support decision-making and business plan delivery.
2. Service Charge Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on service charges, ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with relevant regulations.
3. Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a large finance team, fostering engagement, development, and high performance to meet SLAs.
4. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and detailed forecasts for income, expenditure, and capital projects.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budget, reporting variances.
6. Project Leadership: Drive service-specific projects, including system development, integration, transformation, and procurement initiatives.
7. Governance & Control: Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and legislation.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven track record in managing a large finance team with focus on engagement, development, and succession planning.
* Strong knowledge of service charges or similar industry experience.
* ACCA/CIMA qualification with 2-3 years PQE, or relevant experience in service-specific provision.
* Expertise in management accounting, financial control, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Excellent IT skills, including experience with systems like Agresso, Hyperion, Northgate.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Desirable:
* Experience in financial systems development or service-specific projects.
* Knowledge of housing or property sector regulations and practices.
