Health & Saftey Manager Heathrow Role: Health and Safety Manager Location: Office-based in West Drayton, with the option to work one day a week from home. Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM - 4:00 PM (some flexibility required). Salary: £49,570 per annum. Bonus: Up to 12% of annual salary. This position is responsible for overseeing Health and Safety (HS) compliance and improvement initiatives at the Heathrow Consolidation Centre (HCC) and terminal locations. Key Responsibilities Manage Health and Safety incidents, near misses, and hazard reports via the company's bespoke system (AMIS). Drive continuous improvement in HS practices across the business, including HCC and terminal locations. Maintain and enhance the HCC Safety Management System to comply with regulatory requirements and ISO 45001 standards. Communicate, implement, and maintain accurate records of all HS policies and procedures. Maintain all relevant HS documentation, including training records. Lead and oversee all HS audits (internal and external). Chair HS forum meetings and ensure all points raised are owned and actioned. Collaborate with Unite Union/HS reps on changes to equipment or ways of working. Partner with the Senior Leadership team to align HS initiatives with organizational strategies. Develop and implement short, mid, and long-term HS plans that support business objectives. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for HS at other sites as needed. Undertake additional tasks appropriate to the role. Qualifications Essential: IOSH Managing Safety. NEBOSH General Certificate. Radiation Protection Supervisor certification. Desirable: NXCT holder. Recognized training qualification (e.g., PTTLS or equivalent). Threat Assessor qualification. External Relationships Heathrow Airport Limited personnel (e.g., Account Manager, Security Assurance Manager). Department for Transport. Health and Safety England. Police and law enforcement agencies. Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and other government enforcement agencies. Standards organizations such as BSI and NSF. Internal Relationships Board members with HS responsibilities. HCC Head of Operations, Operations Managers, and Transport Managers. HCC Head of Customer Experience and CTIMs. Unite the Union representatives. HCC department heads and Compliance Officer. Knowledge and Experience Requirements Strong understanding of HS principles with application experience in warehouse and transport environments. Leadership and team influence skills. Confidentiality, excellent communication, and report-writing skills. Familiarity with security and HS management systems. Operational management experience in regulated environments. Proficiency in IT and project management. Proven ability in process improvement, planning, and organizational skills. Experience in training and development of team members.
