Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the fine arts subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
1. Bachelor's degree from accredited university, required
2. Master's degree from accredited university, preferred
3. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
4. Demonstrated competency in the fine arts subject area assigned: Art Teacher
Special Knowledge/Skills
1. Knowledge of fine arts subject assigned
2. Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
3. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
Teaching experience or approved internship.
