Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Safety Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be pivotal in helping our health-tech, digital health, and healthcare clients identify and mitigate clinical risks while maintaining adherence to regulatory standards, including DCB0129, DCB0160, and DTAC. You will collaborate closely with a friendly and enthusiastic team, report directly to the Head of Clinical Safety and play a vital part in driving excellence across multiple client projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct Clinical Safety Assessments
* Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks in digital health and healthcare solutions.
* Apply best practices to uphold rigorous clinical safety standards across diverse projects.
2. Regulatory Compliance and Guidance
* Provide expert advice on relevant regulations and frameworks (e.g., DCB0129, DCB0160, DTAC).
* Ensure clients meet both internal and external compliance requirements.
3. Client Collaboration and Support
* Work closely with NHS and corporate stakeholders to develop tailored risk management strategies.
* Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally.
4. Incident Investigations and Reporting
* Conduct thorough investigations into clinical safety incidents.
* Prepare actionable reports with clear recommendations and follow-up measures.
5. Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement
* Review and interpret safety data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
* Propose evidence-based strategies to enhance patient safety outcomes.
6. Training and Education
* Contribute to developing educational materials and training sessions for both internal teams and clients.
* Support a culture of learning and professional development within the field of digital healthcare governance.
7. Accountability and Deadline Management
* Take personal responsibility for delivering high-quality work, including impeccable documentation and IT skills.
* Manage multiple client engagements at pace, ensuring strict adherence to project timelines.
8. Named CSO for Assigned Projects (when appropriate)
* Serve as the designated Clinical Safety Officer for specific client engagements, fulfilling DCB0129 and DCB0160 requirements.
* Oversee project-specific clinical safety documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Health Care Professional (HCP) permitted to practice in the UK (e.g. medicine, pharmacy, nursing). Please provide your registration body and number for verification purposes.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a healthcare-related field.
* Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) accreditation or equivalent.
* Minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical safety or risk/compliance role within a healthcare setting.
* Direct experience with DCB0129 and DCB0160 clinical safety assessments and compliance documentation.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards in clinical safety.
* Previous consultancy experience is highly desirable (though experience with large, complex client bases will also be considered).
* A higher qualification, such as a relevant Master’s degree, is an added advantage.
