My client are an excellent private sector organisation based in Monmouth who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their successful finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include assisting the Accountant and the Finance Director with various tasks. You’ll also be involved in the following tasks:
1. Billing:
2. Efficiently manage billing receipts and payments, including regular processing of Direct Debits and banking transactions.
3. Oversee and control Fee Debtors, providing regular reports to the Foundation Bursar.
4. Offer necessary information and documentation to support families receiving CEA (Continuity of Education Allowance) and service bursaries.
5. Provideprehensive support for all aspects of the Group’s billing system related to pupils.
Payroll:
6. Assist in preparing and processing monthly salaries.
7. Contribute to the efficient handling of monthly tax and pension returns, ensuring accurate payroll and pensions records.
8. Handle staff expenses claims and cost calculations.
9. Collaborate with other departments within the schools and external bodies to maintainplete and correct financial information.
Additional Duties:
10. Support the Accountant in day-to-day accounting and payroll responsibilities.
11. Provide cover for other roles within the Finance Team.
12. Liaise with various departments to ensure accurate andplete information.
13. Handle iing and outgoingmunications (telephone, email, post) in a friendly and helpful manner.
14. Execute general administration tasks as specified by the Finance Director and the Financial Accountant.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
To excel in this role, you’ll need strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a finance team. You will also need the following:

18. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
19. AAT Level 4 (or studying)
