An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior experienced, high performing registered professional to join the team as a matron in the Division of Medicine working within the stroke and neurology CBU.
We are looking for a dynamic motivated individual with a passion for quality improvement and the desire to make a difference to patients in our care.
As a Matron working in the division, you will demonstrate compassionate leadership and take responsibility for ensuring that your areas are driven to improve standards across the organisation.
The role is cross site between Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough Hospital. The main base will be Peterborough City Hospital but travel across sites will be expected.
Main duties of the job
* During regular visits to the clinical area, assess and monitor the environment in which the patients receive their care using their authority to support ward managers to resolve issues of concern.
* Support the clinical teams to ensure the environment is well maintained, clean and tidy, ensuring regular decluttering activities are undertaken. Ensure they are aware of how to escalate concerns around cleanliness and to activate additional cleaning requirements where indicated.
* Work in close liaison with colleagues from the Facilities and Estates departments and from Mitie, Medirest and Multiplex to help monitor and resolve issues in relation to the patient environment, escalating concerns appropriately. Attend meetings as required.
* Ensure environmental audits are completed and that action plans are compiled and implemented appropriately, including the annual PLACE self-assessment process.
* Support the ward managers and Service Leads in developing reports, as required, to the Clinical Directorate Management Teams and the Care Quality Directorate.
