We are looking for a Test Engineer - Team Lead to join our team in Weymouth. Your focus will be on managing the test department, ensuring that all new ID card printer designs, design changes, and accessories undergo rigorous verification and validation testing.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance before they are launched to the market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test engineering, with experience in both hardware and software testing, and a proven track record of leading a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and manage the test engineers and technicians
* Develop and implement best practices, processes, and methodologies for testing ID card printers and associated products
* Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and business objectives
* Oversee the design, development, and execution of comprehensive V&V test plans for new ID card printer designs
* Ensure thorough testing of both hardware and software components, including functionality, durability, and reliability tests
* Collaborate with the R&D team to identify potential design issues and provide feedback for improvements
* Ensure all test documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with industry standards
* Lead root cause analysis for any issues discovered during testing and work with the design team to implement corrective actions
* Continuously monitor and improve the testing process to enhance product quality and reduce time to market
* Work closely with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of new products
Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience in test engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
* Proven experience in verification and validation testing of hardware products, preferably in the printing or electronics industry.
* Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electronic products is a plus.
