Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in their homes or care homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while fostering a supportive environment for those in need.
Duties
1. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
2. Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily tasks.
3. Follow care plans meticulously to ensure that each client's specific needs are met.
4. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on client status and any changes in condition.
5. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
6. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
7. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to home care and IT systems used for record-keeping.
Experience
1. Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
2. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively is advantageous.
3. Strong communication skills in English are necessary for interacting with clients and team members.
4. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients when needed.
5. A caring attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality support are essential traits for success in this role.
