Assistant Underwriter The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter to join Morton Michel.This role would suit someone with 2 -3 years insurance experience. Morton Michel's underwriting team support the Direct, Advised and Wholesale teams dealing with underwriting queries from all aspects of the customers journey. You will need to be organised and have excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships, at all levels, with brokers, insurers, and across the business. You will work in a wider team responsible for the product and propositions and work closely with the other customer facing teams. Responsibilities: You will be assisting with underwriting referrals for new business quotations, mid-term adjustment and renewals in line with agreed delegated underwriting authority guidelines. You will handle renewals and remedial information required following claims You will handle queries within your agreed authority limits, You will be required to be organised with your work and prioritise. You will adhere to compliance and regulatory procedures, You will ensure that team KPIs, service standards and targets are achieved and exceeded where possible. You will be responsible for completing Technical QAs based on a monthly allocation of cases. You will be responsible for generating reports on Acturis, Excel and other system tools for use across the underwriting team to monitor work. Experience: Proficient in Excel You will have 2-3 years insurance experience, and previous knowledge of delegated authority schemes. You will have experience of working within a regulated FCA environment (essential), You will have good experience using bespoke systems preferably including Acturis, You will have a high attention to detail, coupled with excellent organisation and time management, You will be able to work under pressure, adapt and be flexible in approach, You will have good communication skills having the ability to communicate at all levels.
