Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead for the Southeast Wales Acute Oncology (AO) Operational Delivery Network. The post will suit a Consultant seeking to add an additional session to their existing job plan. The post will work with the wider team to move Acute Oncology Services in SE Wales from project implementation to an operational network, with the aims of; Providing equity of access - irrespective of Health Board of residence, patients presenting to the AOS are assured of equity of access and a common service standard Shared ownership and delivery - the service model is developed jointly across the organisations with clarity around roles and responsibilities This post is fixed term/secondment for 3 years due to funding. Main duties of the job As Clinical lead the post holder will have responsibility for clinical leadership, advice and engagement, including: Providing professional and clinical leadership for the project and subsequently the operational network Providing clinical advice and scrutiny to activities and required support to deliver the objectives of the project and network Providing leadership for improving and safeguarding quality Providing a specialised role in the development and implementation of services and care pathways for Acute Oncology Challenging organisations and teams regarding the implementation of best practice for AO The successful candidate will be working at Consultant level, with experience of working with Acute Oncology Services within NHS Wales.
