During your apprenticeship, you will undertake and work towards completing an apprentice training agreement, including attending college and completing appropriate coursework and examinations. College location to be agreed with the successful candidate.
You will assist in providing an engineering service to maintenance activities to ensure the smooth running of the ports, whilst completing your apprenticeship.
You will also:
1. Assist in carrying out inspection, maintenance, fault diagnostics, and installation work safely in line with all current legislation and ABP guidelines.
2. Assist with the maintenance of cranes, machinery, and equipment, and the maintenance of ship locks, sluices, and associated equipment.
3. Maintain the ports buildings including transit sheds and offices and maintenance and repair of workshop machinery.
4. Work on FLTs, loading shovels, and skid steers.
Entry requirements:
1. 5x GCSEs including English and Maths (including English L4, a Science L4, Maths L5). Please ensure you list your grades for individual subjects on your application, indicating where they are predicted grades.
2. Have a keen interest in engineering.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Ability to work at height.
5. Good timekeeping/punctuality.
