Location: South Birmingham Agency: Daniel Owen Recruitment Position: Temporary to Permanent Pay: £20.00 per hour (Self Employed) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator with a strong background in mold and damp treatment for social housing projects. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing the challenges associated with damp and mold issues in residential settings, ensuring long-lasting and effective solutions for tenants. Key Responsibilities: Apply paint and wallpaper to both interior and exterior surfaces within social housing properties. Treat and remediate areas affected by mold and damp, following best practice procedures. Identify and assess the causes of damp and mold issues, using appropriate methods to resolve them (e.g., anti-mold treatments, condensation control). Repair damaged surfaces, including plastering, sanding, and preparation of walls and ceilings for decoration. Use specialized mold-resistant paints and other treatments to protect properties from future issues. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure comprehensive property repairs. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and quality standards. Communicate effectively with tenants to minimize disruption during work and explain procedures. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including any recommendations for further treatment. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry techniques and materials for mold and damp treatment.Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator, with at least 2 years working specifically on social housing projects or similar environments. Specialized knowledge of mold and damp treatment techniques, including identification, remediation, and prevention. Ability to apply decorative finishes, including painting, wallpapering, and surface preparation. Strong understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and building regulations. Ability to assess and solve complex damp and mold issues. Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship. Good communication skills and customer-focused attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
