A busy manufacturing company based in Telford is looking for an experienced Production Team Leader on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be managing the supply of pressed parts to different areas within the business. You will be responsible for the control and coordination of all production processes and the day-to-day running of the department, to include staff training and development, achieving targets and objectives and compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
As Production Team Leader, your main duties will include:
Performance management of your team members, to include absence management
Ensuring the daily picking list is completed in priority order and on time
Maintaining high levels of communication with Team Leaders in other departments
Attending daily production meetings and conduct daily briefings with the team
Implementing standards operating procedures (SOP) where possible
Implementing and driving continuous improvement within your department
Supporting other departments collaboratively when there are changes to demands
Working with the Production Supervisor to implement continuous improvement initiatives
Working co-operatively with your own team and others across the business to ensure effective collaboration, using clear & effective communication with the ability to delegate tasks
We’re looking for a Production Team Leader with:
Previous experience in a similar role is essential
An understanding of the OTD and OTIF customer focus
Qualifications in Health & Safety e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or Management e.g. ILM Level 2/3 are highly desirable
The ability to demonstrate your proactiveness and ability to forward plan, with great organisation and the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship
The ability to adapt to changes within the business and always understand the customer’s focus
An understanding of all aspects of Health & Safety in and around the workplace
An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, SMED, TPM and how to implement them is beneficial, but not essential
You will be working rotating shifts, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.
