Child Protection Social Worker
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Child Protection Social Worker to join our team in Liverpool, supporting vulnerable children and families across the city. Youll be part of a committed safeguarding team, working in partnership with local agencies to make a lasting impact on childrens lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake child protection investigations and comprehensive risk assessments
*
Develop and review Child Protection, Child in Need, and Looked After Children plans
*
Hold and manage a varied caseload in line with Liverpool City Councils safeguarding procedures
*
Carry out statutory visits, direct work with children, and engage with families to promote safety and positive outcomes
*
Contribute to case conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings
*
Produce high:quality, evidence:based reports and maintain accurate case records
*
Collaborate with education, health, housing, and police services in a multi:agency context
*
Follow local policies in line with legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children
*
Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and continuous development initiatives
Key Requirements:
*
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
*
Experience in statutory child protection and safeguarding work
*
Sound knowledge of child development, risk assessment, and relevant legislation
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
*
Ability to work flexibly and manage complex caseloads effectively
*
Commitment to Liverpools child:centred, strengths:based approach
*
Enhanced DBS check
*
Full UK driving licence (desirable)
