Our client is a global brand, with significant presence across the UK. It is committed to growing and continually developing its broker proposition across the UK, specifically within the mid-market space. Due to this, they are therefore seeking an experienced Development Underwriter in Birmingham.
This opportunity is newly created due to growth of the portfolio / proposition so what is unique is the scope to be part of a huge development program within this area. You will have the chance to help with the shaping of its ambitious growth plan in the Midlands but also across the UK.
You will be responsible for looking after a mixture of brokers (national as well as independent) and will play an active role in driving new business within the midlands across the midmarket space as well as SME. You will be working part of a team of 8 that are spanned across the UK who focus and plan to double the size of the book, so there could be longer term opportunity to take more responsibility for this professionally managed and profitable division. This is both an exciting and dynamic time within this organisation, which really is looking to seek out the best Underwriters within its field.
We are looking to speak to individuals that have experience in writing complex commercial lines (P&C) or professional risks such as PI/D&O. If you are an Underwriter who relishes the broker relationship management piece, thrives on successfully developing and growing your business, this will particularly appeal to you.
