PRU Science Teacher

We are seeking an experienced Science Teacher for an Academy in Birmingham that supports students who have struggled in mainstream education. The school focuses on helping students with unmet additional needs, disengagement from mainstream education, and challenges related to peer relationships and attendance. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach and manage a diverse group of students with additional needs
* Develop and deliver detailed lesson plans with the support of a teaching assistant
* Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators to enhance teaching practices
* Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students
* Collaborate with the SEN team to develop personalised learning plans for students
* Promote a safe and respectful classroom environment, encouraging student participation
* Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Proven experience in planning and delivering science lessons
* Level 1 safeguarding certificate
* Recent school-based references
* Enhanced DBS (or registered on the update service
* A commitment to promoting the well-being and safeguarding of all students
* Experience with using technology to enhance learning and teaching
* A passion for science and a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential
