About the Role As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO will take strategic ownership of the Trust’s financial sustainability, oversee operational finance and governance, and drive best practice across financial planning, reporting, and control. You’ll lead and mentor the Finance and Administration team and play a central role in supporting wider organisational development – including shaping new income streams, ensuring compliance, and guiding key commercial and capital decisions. It’s a dynamic, mission-led role for a finance leader who thrives on variety, impact, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of the Trust’s financial strategy, aligning financial planning with long-term organisational goals. Manage all aspects of financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cashflow management. Drive financial governance and control, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory frameworks (including OSCR). Oversee statutory accounts, audits, and the production of the Annual Report. Lead the financial aspects of new ventures, including contract negotiation and subsidiary development. Support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis, risk management, and business case evaluation. Mentor and lead the finance and administration team to build a high-performing, solution-focused function. Actively contribute to wider organisational planning and initiatives as part of the Senior Leadership Team. About You A commercially astute and values-driven finance professional who combines technical rigour with strategic thinking and excellent people skills. You’ll bring: A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ICAS, ICAEW, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience. Senior-level finance leadership experience within a charity, social enterprise or SME environment. Strong track record in financial strategy, governance, and team development. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Proven ability to manage complex budgets, contracts, and reporting requirements. A collaborative, empowering leadership style and a strong sense of personal integrity. Understanding of the charity or social enterprise landscape – and a genuine passion for purpose-led work.
