JOB DESCRIPTION
The Requirements Engineer will be responsible for executing technical responsibilities within the Requirements and Verification team of the Systems Engineering organization. The position will report to the Requirements Team Lead and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to define and execute the Requirements Management processes. Areas of knowledge and experience are required in, but not limited to:
* Systems Engineering
* Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
* Requirements Verification and Validation
* DOORS
* Modelling and Simulation
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide coordination to the development of the whole ship System Requirements Document and associated deliverables.
* Conduct requirements analysis and reviews in accordance with the Systems Engineering Management Plan and Requirements Management Plan.
* Provide oversight to ensure that the SRD requirements are traceable to verify the lowest Configuration Item for all systems.
* Develop plans, processes and procedures as required in support of program requirements.
* Provide engineering technical expertise during requirements definition, design, integration, test, and production phases.
* Develop mitigation plans for risks associated with their engineering discipline and make risk-based technical decisions.
* Provide engineering technical expertise for the Model Based Systems Engineering approach, processes and tools.
* Management of the DOORS Requirements Management database and the CAMEO MBSE software applications.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal (Shipyard Production, RCD Program personnel) and external stakeholders (subcontractors and Canadian government representatives).
* Ensure all Subcontractor and ISI SE deliverables are compliant with the Statement of Work.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years' experience in an engineering or project management role leading a specific workstream on large projects or project portfolios.
* Experience working in a heavy industrial environment, manufacturing or fabrication.
* Strong background in stakeholder management and teamwork skills; pro-active and results-focused.
* Must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security clearance.
* Bachelor's degree or Diploma in an Engineering discipline.
* Formal qualification in project management.
* P. Eng Designation an asset.
* PMP an asset.
