We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener (LBS-003) to join our dynamic team. As a Gardener, you will play a critical role in maintaining the beauty and health of our gardens, parks, and outdoor spaces. Your expertise in horticulture will be essential in creating and sustaining aesthetically pleasing landscapes that are beneficial to both the environment and the community. You will work collaboratively with the landscape maintenance team to ensure that our plants, flowers, and other landscape features are well-cared for, thrive, and align with our sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plant varieties, soil health, pest management, and design principles, as well as a genuine commitment to providing high-quality gardening services. Additionally, you will be responsible for educating and engaging community members about the importance of green spaces. This role requires good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the health and appearance of gardens and landscaping features.
Plant and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants according to seasonal requirements.
Monitor plant health and apply appropriate pest management techniques and treatments.
Perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and pruning.
Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal hydration of plants.
Educate community members and visitors on plant care and sustainable gardening practices.
Collaborate with team members to design and implement new landscaping projects.
Requirements
Proven experience as a gardener or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of horticulture, soil science, and pest management.
Ability to identify various plant species and their care requirements.
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
Familiarity with gardening tools and equipment, including safety practices.
Excellent observation skills and attention to detail in maintaining garden aesthetics.
Effective communication skills for engaging with team members and the community.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.39
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
