Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of a Cancer tracker and Support MDT Co-ordinator within the Plastics and Breast Directorate.
Do you have excellent administration skills, a good eye for detail and the tenacity to “go that extra mile? The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive administrative management from referral to treatment or discharge.
Working closely alongside the existing MDT coordinators and trackers you will help manage and organise the patients who are required for discussion at the weekly MDT meetings and track patients through their cancer pathway ensuring accurate data collection. The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathways of care, working alongside consultants and other disciplines of clinical staff.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. Support tracking of the tumour sites within Plastics and Breast monitor patient's progress to ensure diagnostic procedures and treatments are planned to meet the patient's needs and the Cancer pathway waiting time standards.
2. Use of Infoflex to record activity and cancer waiting times.
3. Action MDT referrals.
4. Complete and submit breach reports.
5. Act as extended member of multidisciplinary meetings.
6. Help coordinate and deliver multidisciplinary meetings.
7. Cover colleagues in times of absence.

The Plastics and Breast Directorate is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield Teaching Hospital, and provides service to emergency and elective inpatient and outpatients.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.

Person specification
Qualifications
* 2 or more GCSEs, to include English Language and mathematics (grade 4 or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* NVQ level 3 or relevant experience
Experience
* Relevant experience within a clinical directorate in the NHS (or related healthcare experience)
* Previous office experience
* Knowledge of Lorenzo /Patient Focussed Information / InfoFlex, and/or a willingness to undertake further training
* Use of word processing packages
* Understanding of 31/62 referral process
* Previous Medical Records experience
* Medical terminology course
* Knowledge of cancer tracking
* Knowledge of cancer pathways
Skills and Knowledge
* Evidence of good organisational, prioritisation and communication skills
* Experience of being able to work as part of a team, whilst being able to work independently.
* Good organisational skills and experience in dealing with large quantities of data.
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrate a clear understanding for the need to maintain patient confidentiality and data handling
* Evidence in dealing with colleagues of all disciplines and levels.
