An esteemed North East law firm is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its high performing Residential Property team.

About the Role
As the Conveyancing Assistant, you will support the busy Residential Property team, which is the largest department in the firm and continues to grow.
You will work closely with fee earners, secretaries, and administrative staff in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting with opening and closing client files using the firm’s practice management system
2. Communicating with clients, estate agents, and third parties to ensure smooth progress of conveyancing transactions
3. Conducting ID verification, AML checks, and media searches
4. Preparing legal documents for property transactions
5. Assisting with post-completion matters, including liaising with the Land Registry for pre-completion searches
6. Supporting with drafting contracts, memorandums of exchange, and other legal documentation
7. Managing financial tasks such as creating paying-in slips and requisitioning payments
Ideal Candidate
1. Experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant or in a related administrative role within a Conveyancing environment
2. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy team
4. Great communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively
5. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
6. A proactive, can-do attitude with strong initiative and problem-solving skills
