CAD Technician DC Personnel have an exciting permanent full time opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician for a leading joinery and construction business in Leicester. Salary & Benefits up to £40,000 per annum DOE Day hours Monday to Friday. Overtime at premium rate available after 40 hours. 32 days annual leave (24 days exclusive of Bank holidays) Dedicated employee assistant programme cycle to work scheme Seeking ambitious CAD individuals you will have the opportunity to progress over time into CAD lead designer Key Responsibilities: • Create manufacturing models and drawings from architectural and design intent drawings for approval and construction • Ensure all drawings and models meet industry-standard manufacturing and drawing requirements • Adhere to project-specific standards, including naming conventions, numbering protocols, and standard details • Deliver drawings within established timeframes and budgets • Collaborate with the Lead CAD Technician as needed and report any design, cost, or timeframe issues • Accurately detail all ironmongery and equipment in the drawings. • Utilize internal and architectural models to source up-to-date drawing information where applicable. • Attend project design meetings and liaise with the project team as required. • Export models in the necessary format for inclusion in project models. • Provide models in the correct format for CNC machining when required. • Review all surveys to ensure they meet the provided instructions precisely. • Maintain survey instructions and completed surveys in the designated drawing job file Ideal Candidate: • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD or 3D Modelling CAD software • To produce level 4 standard of drawings (RIBA) from design to concept • A solid understanding of the joinery industry and its manufacturing processes • While joinery or construction experience is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement • Collaborate with the factory to discuss specific details and buildability considerations. • Work closely with the procurement team for guidance on purchased items, including but not limited to specialist metalworks, glass, and fabrics • Liaise with all relevant departments as needed to meet contractual obligations • Coordinate with specialist subcontractors as required • Oversee subcontractor collaboration to ensure seamless integration within the project This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading bespoke joinery business that will invest in you offers a great work-life balance and the ability to have a rewarding career.
