About Us:
It is an exciting time to join Lambeth Council. We have bold ambitions for the future of Lambeth’s communities and residents through our transformational One Lambeth Programme, ensuring we are ‘connected by purpose’ in everything we do to deliver excellence. We are proud to have recently developed a refreshed set of One Lambeth Values and Behaviours that were developed for staff by staff: Equity, Ambition, Kindness, and Accountability.
About the Borough:
Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 300,000 residents. Stretching from the dynamic neighbourhood of Streatham in the South to the iconic landmarks of Waterloo in the North, we are proud to be the third largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 100 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.
With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
Lambeth Council is seeking an occupational therapist to work in Technology Enabled Care. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our service and carry out assessments for complex assistive technology. You will need to understand how technology can be used to promote independence, minimize risk, and support carers. Initially, you will be linked to another OT for peer support and will be supported by an experienced OT manager. Opportunities to develop your Professional Development Portfolio are available, and the attendance of training courses and skill sharing within the team are encouraged. Responsibilities will include:
1. Carry out technology-specific assessments in a service user’s home.
2. Provide recommendations for a variety of technology solutions and support service users and carers in its use.
3. Liaising closely with colleagues across health, housing, and social care and providing training and support to Assessors across the borough.
4. Work closely with Lambeth’s monitoring and response service (Careline) and their system platform.
