Business Development Executive
Location - Cardiff City Centre, with occasional international travel
Hours - Full time, Monday - Friday (in office)
Salary - £30,000 with an OTE of £60,000 (uncapped)
Talent Tent is proud to be working with Finalrentals, one of Wales’ most exciting startups to find a Business Development Executive.
Finalrentals is a market leading tech company that was launched with only one aim - to get people the best prices for car rentals online by empowering local car rental companies to become digital and get more bookings.
Finalrentals has franchisees and affiliates around the world and in 2025 the brand has expanded to over 45 countries and counting.
The business has received backing to take the business to the next level of growth, and adding a Business Development Executive to their team will be vital to the success of the business.
The Role
Finalrentals works with an international community of independent car rental partners - each of these use the platform to grow their own business and achieve success.
This role is the driver of the sales process for Finalrentals. From first contact, to demonstrations and onboarding new partners, you will make an impact by growing this successful startups business by expanding the customer base.
As Business Development Executive, you will be required to identify and convert independent car rental companies across the world, who will join the platform, and become part of the Finalrentals community.
What to expect from your role?
Firstly you will need to learn about Finalrentals, their history, where they are going, and how everything works - you will be their expert on how the platform impacts the community partners.
Then day-to-day you will:
1. Strategically identify leads on a global scale, make contact, and start the sales process
2. Contact leads provided by the sales support team and identify your own leads
3. Follow up direct contacts from potential car hire partners
4. Take platform demonstrations to sales completions, hitting targets for conversions per month
5. Travel internationally, representing Finalrentals at events, conferences and trade shows
6. Take a long term view on the sales process, and adjust it to make it as effective as possible
7. Work closely with the founder, give feedback, and help make the platform and the team the best it can be
8. Work closely with the customer team, to ensure a seamless transition from sales, to business as usual
9. Interact with our international teams
The skills and experience you’ll need
Our dream candidate will be firstly extremely interested in working in a startup environment, so will be agile, quick to learn, and keen to grow with the company. You will have to be innovative, customer focused, and target driven.
Whilst this isn’t a tech role, you must be confident in learning new technologies, systems and embrace the benefits of AI.
A previous sales role in a startup or similar would be great, however similar roles in sales and account management would also be happily considered.
It is essential that you will be driven by hitting targets, sales success and winning new business. This also means that you will be used to reaching out, managing rejections and staying positive.
But don’t worry if that doesn’t sound 100% like you – we still want to hear from you, as we know people with great transferable skills and a good attitude also succeed in the startup world.
This is a growing tech company, so it will be fast-paced and there will sometimes be long hours to get things done, however the founder wants to bring you on the growth journey with the company, and will ensure you are rewarded for your hard work and dedication.
