Management Accountant
The Management Accountant role is to provide support to the Finance Business Partner, Senior Finance Business Partner, and local Operational Directors & Managers to ensure that the financial health of the division is maintained.
This position will ideally suit someone with prior experience as a Management Accountant who has worked in a busy finance department and is looking for the next step in their career. You will be a quick learner, able to demonstrate attention to detail, with a proactive and positive approach to work. You will be a team player, able to communicate effectively and build good working relationships, to contribute to a friendly and supportive team culture.
This is a permanent job opening which will be based at Milton Park, Abingdon. We are happy to offer study support either for AAT or ACCA/CIMA, as appropriate.
What you’ll be doing
1. Preparation and analysis of month end management accounts for accountability centres within the Operating Unit
2. Analysis of project performance within accountability centres
3. Provide robust explanations for any significant trends/variations to target or forecast for each accountability centre
4. Participate in debt review calls with Credit Control and help facilitate query resolution with Project and Business Support managers
5. Review aged unbilled and chase up invoicing with operational directors and Business Support managers
6. Preparation and input of accruals, prepayments, and other ad hoc journals
7. Support annual AOP (budget) process
8. Monthly rotational tasks
9. Assisting the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Business Partner with adhoc reports and special projects
Who we’re looking for
10. Previous Experience in Management Accounting (Preferable)
11. Technical knowledge including UK GAAP and IFRS
12. Intermediate/ Advanced Excel and Report creating skills
