Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join our administration team that supports our Specialist Perinatal Service. The successful candidate will also be required to provide flexible administration and clerical cover across the division when required to support the needs of the service
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be able to organise their own workload and co-ordinate workload activities, have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner. There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work as part of a multi disciplinary team and on your own initiative.
To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service. Processing all in a timely, accurate and quality manner
Take comprehensive minutes for team meetings and clinical consultation, such as weekly Multi Disciplinary Meetings (MDT)
Have excellent IT and communication skills to support a high standard of care. The post holder will be an excellent typist, preferably to RSA level 2 & with audio transcription skills.
You will be required to provide secretarial and admin support across the division when required
