A band 6 Charge Nurse/Sister opportunity has arisen on Coronary Care Unit QHB at Queens Hospital Burton. As an already experienced leadership team, we are able to support the right candidate to develop into the role. We would welcome part time/full time hours.
CCU QHB is a 10 bedded High Dependency Cardiology Unit and we see patients who require constant heart monitoring. We support patients with complex needs who require to be admitted to our Cath Lab for procedures (at QHB or RDH), long term cardiology conditions and emergency cardiology procedures.
The successful candidate should be able to provide nursing guidance to colleagues and act as a role model. You will be required to plan, monitor and evaluate care for our patients.
Expert speciality knowledge and skills would be advantageous but can be developed.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work across the ward and coordinate patient care, taking charge and supporting the Senior Sister.
The successful candidate will have good leadership skills and support change. We can offer training and development both clinically and through leadership.
You will need to have excellent clinical skills, knowledge, and communication skills with exemplary high standards of care.
You will be a role model for the team and will motivate and inspire others to be the very best they can be.
* Ensuring all staff are supported to provide high standards of quality care
* Completing clinical audits and using them to shape/influence improvement projects
* Completing rosters
* Sickness management
* Performance management
* Being a vital point of contact for patients and relatives
