Job Description
Our client is looking to appoint a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy Purchasing Team. This is a newly created position to support the busy procurement and stores teams.
This is a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant, Assistant Buyer, or Expeditor to join an established team and develop their skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities of the role:
1. Place and track purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to meet manufacturing schedules
2. Build relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and OTD
3. Review Open Order Books
4. Liaise with suppliers to pro-actively progress open orders
5. Updating and maintaining the ERP systems
6. Monitoring inventory levels and highlighting material shortages
7. Support the Purchasing Team with Ad Hoc requirements
Experience and knowledge of the role:
1. Experience working in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
2. Experience using ERP/MRP systems
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills
4. Strong understanding of MS Office
5. Self-motivated with a can-do positive attitude; team player
6. Supply Chain Degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential
