About the Technology Department:
Our faculty vision is to develop a learning environment in which curiosity and fascination is at the heart of student learning in Design. Our ambition is to uphold a collective vision, in which student success is a driving factor to raise our expectations and standards. To achieve this, both students and design staff need to be invested in the curriculum they curate and shape, to enable our leaners to achieve much more. Engaging students through active participation is our priority. We intend to strengthen the purpose of Design education at the Bulwell Academy to enrich pupils Design experience and recognise the importance of this in their everyday lives.
About You:
As a Teacher of Food & Technology at The Bulwell Academy, you will believe passionately about making a difference to the life of every student and do so with integrity, humility, and relentless positivity. Your expertise will empower learners to develop their skills in a creative and collaborative classroom environment Our ideal candidate would:
* Be able to teach exciting and exceptional KS4 Food lessons.
* Be involved with development and teaching of Design and Technology, with Food at KS3.
* Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment to enhance Design and Making skills.
* Contribute significantly to the values and ethos of the Design Faculty.
* Lead extracurricular cooking activities.
* Develop school links with other Food departments and/or Food organisations to enhance curriculum opportunities.
* Play a lead role in developing the Food, Cooking, and Nutrition understanding withing the faculty and across the school.
Requirements:
To apply for the Teacher of English opportunity you must hold:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant field
* Understand the strategies required to motivate learners, inspire their curiosity in Food and Nutrition, the Catering Industry, and cooking for health and pleasure.
* Evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject specialism through schemes of work and medium-term plans.
* Vocational or Food related teaching or experience in the Hospitality and Catering Industry.
* Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the KS4 Hospitality and Catering or Food and Nutrition and Food Science curriculum area.
* Enthusiasm, knowledge and flexibility to teach and deliver lessons in KS3 subject areas in Design and Technology and Art, such as Textiles, Resistant Materials, Food, or Graphics.
