Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Chef/Cook, including some weekends, with culinary and management experience. The successful candidate will handle kitchen functions such as ordering supplies, food preparation, maintaining quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and supervising staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support meal and snack preparation, cooking, and serving, catering to residents’ dietary needs (e.g., diabetics, texture-modified food, vegetarian)
* Manage stock and order supplies
* Plan menus
* Conduct food safety checks and keep records as required
* Adhere to company policies and procedures
* Follow health and safety guidelines
* Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment and food service areas
* Collaborate with Activities Team for special events
* Manage budgets
* Oversee employee supervision and scheduling
Essential Characteristics:
* Experience working in a care setting
* Qualifications in catering
* Qualifications in food safety/hygiene

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

* Knowledge of food safety requirements
* Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
