HBS group is a successful running chain of healthcare pharmacies with head office based in Preston (UK). Having experienced record growth in the last couple of years, we are looking for an ACT (Accuracy Checking Technician) to support existing and new emerging opportunities in the United Kingdom as part of a new succession solution to drive the strategy of profitable expansion and broaden the customer base.
All applicants are welcome who are registered as Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technicians with the GPhC.
The successful candidate needs to have the following skill base and experience:
* Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
* Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
* Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
* Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
* Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.
* Develops hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and healthcare professionals.
* Complies with regulatory body; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
* Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
* Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements preferred, but not essential:
* Registration with GPhC (Essential)
* Flu Vaccination
* EHC
* NRT
* Minor Aliment
* Qualified - registered with the GPhC
* Ability to work effectively under pressure
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships within the company and across the customers we provide our services to
* Ability to work in partnership with other healthcare professionals, using your expertise and experience to deliver complete care solutions for our customers and patients
* Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
