The Role
Quotient Sciences is committed to developing the careers of the next generation of analytical scientists and has a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate student to join Quotient Sciences on a year's placement working in the Pharmaceutical Sciences department in Analytical Development.
Excellent communication is essential in this role to communicate the progress of projects effectively within the cross-functional team.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have completed at least a year of undergraduate study at a high level and be eligible for a sandwich year placement, ideally with some experience of working within a laboratory environment.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK upon being offered employment.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
* To plan experiments, according to an agreed work schedule.
* To execute experiments using a broad range of techniques and equipment.
* Working in a safe responsible manner at all times and towards the implementation of GLP and GMP.
* To be involved in the testing of pharmaceuticals to cGMP standards and developing/optimising analytical methods testing a wide range of dosage forms.
* Keeping detailed and accurate records of all work undertaken.
* Accurate analysis and calculation of results, in line with written method and/or SOPs of the company.
* To write reports as necessary.
* To communicate progress of projects effectively to Quotient staff.
* To carry out routine cleaning and general laboratory maintenance duties, as required.
* To be aware of the need for confidentiality outside the company.
* To perform other duties as reasonably required.
Candidate requirements
* Completed at least a first year of undergraduate study performing at a high level, and eligible for a sandwich placement (equivalent to a 1st or 2.1 class degree performance).
* Reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
* Good computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
