Job Description Join us as an Asset Finance Surveyor Manager This is a leadership role where you'll help shape risk appetite and act as a trusted advisor to our sales team You'll manage a team of asset managers providing transportation asset valuations and residual values to support new business and arrange asset disposals In addition to building on your transportation asset knowledge this role provides the opportunity to develop transferable skills across Risk, Governance and Sales What you'll do As a Surveyor Manager, you’ll be maximising the net realisable value from assets that are or have been the subject of a finance agreement. You’ll be contributing to shape risk appetite and strategy at a local level across relevant asset classes and will be responsible for delivering on debt and leasing transactions across all business divisions. You’ll also be delivering continuous improvement in the business’s approach to it's asset management strategy to make sure that market trends and predictions are always considered, and that the business enjoys an appropriate return for the asset risk it takes. Day-to-day, you’ll be: Minimising losses and maximising the sales proceeds from assets subject to default agreements Competently using numerous routes to market to achieve optimum results, such as maximising realisations and minimising sales costs Structuring profitable agreements with numerous parties Understanding and structuring contract documentation to protect risk and maximise value Managing a team responsible for Transportation assets and sector risk across all Group divisions The skills you'll need We're looking for someone with significant Transportation asset valuation and asset management industry experience and experience of people management. Relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage, but not essential. You’ll also demonstrate: Detailed sector experience across the specialist assets relevant to the role and significant general industry experience The ability to comprehensively instruct external experts to assist in sales and valuations An understanding of the risks associated with the various asset disposal routes Knowledge of leasing structures and risk mitigants, assets and their risk and value characteristics An understanding of financial returns
