PXO has seven studios and three LED Virtual Production volumes in the US, UK, Germany, and Canada. We are looking for an experienced Stage Operations Manager to join our Production team across our various locations, to help maintain our position as leading innovators in the Virtual Production space.
Responsibilities
1. Lead working sessions with key stakeholders (including PXO leadership team) to gather requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
2. Lead meetings with architects and trade contractors at site and project meetings.
3. Project manage the end-to-end process from design, procurement of equipment through to the installation of a large scale LED volume facility.
4. Provide strong and timely decision making to project team members.
5. Supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality standards are in place.
6. Anticipate problems and identify solutions.
7. Ensure equipment is installed, tested, and documented.
8. Closely manage critical path and report weekly, providing succinct project reporting and tracking progress to delivery internally and to the client.
9. Be conversant with all relevant local Health and Safety procedures and responsible for ensuring that they are adhered to. Ensure all H&S documentation and risk assessments are completed and recorded appropriately.
10. Partner with the finance teams to manage cashflow requirements and ensure equipment is ordered and scheduled to deliver in accordance with project milestones.
11. Financial reporting of actual and projected spend to budget, maintaining high levels of cost control.
12. Partner with General Counsel to ensure robust contractual agreements are in place with suppliers and contractors.
13. Utilize existing relationships and partnerships to support the hiring of a team to deliver the project.
14. Provide a full detailed handover including documentation to a stage team.
15. Oversee user training once installation is completed.
Requirements
1. Project management experience and certification. Experience in successfully project managing large technical installation projects.
2. Experience in managing client relationships is essential.
3. Experience in running and recording effective meetings with a range of key stakeholders, internal and external.
4. Key skills in project planning and time management and effective communication to manage site-based project personnel.
5. Previous audio-visual construction experience.
6. Experience in troubleshooting and testing equipment.
7. Experience leading large teams across multiple disciplines from design, procurement to construction.
8. Experienced in regularly reporting on project progress.
9. Health and Safety qualifications considered valuable.
10. Previous on-set film industry experience preferred.
11. Proven ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage expectations.
12. Excellent attention to detail.
13. Finance and budgeting experience.
14. Strong problem-solving skills.
15. Highly motivated and able to work well under pressure to ensure successful delivery.
16. Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
17. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
18. Shift work and potential weekend work is required to meet project delivery deadlines.
19. Flexibility to travel internationally to meet company needs and be located temporarily onsite during critical build phases (potentially for periods of several months).
